Once our engineers carry out a free CCTV survey, we will be able to propose the brand and model of cameras that best suit your requirement and budget. The same applies to CCTV servers, backup drives, switches or any other additional equipment that is required.
During a routine CCTV maintenance visit, an FDE engineer will carry out the following tasks:
- Checking for any cameras that are offline or not operating properly
- Checking that camera lenses are focused and adjusted properly
- Checking the camera views have not been knocked off their correct setting
- Cleaning any dust or marks off the camera lens with a can of compressed air
- Wiping down the camera casing with a microfibre cloth
- Checking that the motion detection sensors are working (if applicable)
- Checking that the cameras’ functions, such as zoom and pan are working correctly (if applicable)
- Trimming back any foliage that may be obscuring cameras’ view
- Checking that the cameras are securely attached to the wall
- Checking wiring for any wear and tear or exposed wires
- Checking for loose wires and connections
- Checking that the school is getting a clear transmission of sound and picture with no distortion
- Updating CCTV software and CCTV server with security patches and updates
- Ensuring CCTV footage is being backed up as expected
